Sunday Worship
Sunday Worship is at 10:30 AM.
We are an authentic community who invites you to join us in Worship every Sunday at 10:30 AM.
Our Mission
Our mission is to live for God, to serve Christ, to be moved by the Holy Spirit and to spread the Good News by our actions serving the larger community.
Our Community
Messiah is an open-door church community, who welcomes all people and helps them grow their faith through worship and on an individual level. Whether you are a seeker or a Christian, our prayer is that Messiah may be a place of safety and spiritual refreshment on your journey with the Lord. If you are looking for a spiritual home, we hope that you will come worship with us.
Our Tradition
Church of the Messiah values the traditional and liturgical form of worship in the Episcopal Church. We honor our tradition and history while we remain open to new ideas.
Our Goals
We are a small congregation with an average Sunday attendance of 25-30 and would like to grow our membership. We want to reach all ages, young and old, and provide them with more fellowship opportunities that would help reclaim and retain young family membership.
The congregation believes that Messiah can grow by making Messiah more visible in the Gonzales community. We need a priest that is active and engaged with the church and the local community.
Our Priorities
We are committed to serving the needs of our parish members by visiting the sick, shut-in, and bereaved; and by visiting members in their homes. We provide pastoral counseling for members having personal, family or work- related problems.
Our parish members are important. We place emphasis on planning and leading worship service sensitive to the needs of the congregation and to the spiritual development of all members. We seek guidance to discern connections between scripture and our daily lives. We desire our rector to openly share his or her personal faith with us.
Our rector should be active in planning and leading a program of new member recruitment, in participating in local community activities and in supporting our many outreach programs in the community.
